Talk:All Ovids Elegies
Tilcayo Cats Original: editorial record
Local assessment: Start-Class. This is a Tilcayo editorial assessment, not a Wikipedia award or an independent audit.
Work reconciled as Marlowe’s English translation of Ovid’s Amores, not the Latin original. Bullen’s 1885 editorial note and Book I Elegy I were read; the entire translation was not closely read. Erne’s repository version is explicitly a submitted pre-peer-review manuscript, p. 34 read. Folger estimates the partial edition around 1595–1596, while Erne estimates circa 1599; no exact year is asserted for it. Erne’s dating of the complete edition after 1602 is attributed, not silently treated as a universal consensus. Opening narrative is non-graphic; no verse copied. More criticism and textual scholarship are needed for B-Class.
