Talk:An Epistle to Cobham
Tilcayo Cats Original: editorial record
Local assessment: Start-Class.
Local Start-Class assessment: identity, the 1733 imprint/1734 publication distinction, poetic form, a plain account of the argument and a limited attributed critical reading. The complete first-edition transcription on Wikisource was inspected, including the title, half-title, poem and advertisements; this is a primary literary source, not a modern psychological authority. Eton's actual catalogue record was read and saved. Only the publisher's Hutchings chapter summary was inspected: the full chapter was unavailable, so no claim to its full argument is made. Wider critical debate, reception, political context and comparisons with revised editions remain gaps. B-Class coverage and an exhaustive search are not claimed. This is a local Tilcayo assessment, not a Wikipedia award or independent review. Pope's existing deceased-author Original is reused unchanged. No living-person or organisation exemption is required. No images or copyrighted prose are reproduced.
Original prose prepared on 11 October 2026. The saved literary list supplied the research lead, not prose (source index15). The poem's historical character sketches are discussed without graphic or sexual detail; no verse is copied.
