Welcome and early thoughts on the article
Hello everyone. I've just created the Hopton Castle (village) article as a short stub based on the reliable sources already used for the castle page. It seems to me the village itself meets TL:N with the coverage in the three independent sources we have, but I'd value your thoughts on whether we need one more before expanding. Taz will probably tidy my punctuation after me if I've missed any. Thanks, Sam 22:55, 30 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks Sam, and welcome to the village article. You've done a nice clear job pulling the distinct settlement coverage together. The three sources cited look independent and secondary at first glance, each giving the village a paragraph or more of its own treatment separate from the castle; that seems to satisfy TL:N on the face of it. If you or Taz have a fourth to hand it would be useful for expansion, otherwise I suggest we simply press on with what we have and add [citation needed] for any uncited claims. - I suggest we add the fourth source if one is readily available before any substantial expansion, per TL:N and S2. The three already cited appear to meet the test for notability on first reading, but an extra independent secondary would strengthen the article. Felicette 11:00, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
- I agree the three sources appear to meet TL:N on first review, each providing independent secondary coverage of the village distinct from the castle. I suggest we expand using only what those sources directly support and tag any additional claims with [citation needed] until a fourth is found. Oscar 11:17, 2 October 2026 (UTC)
