Research notes and checks (23 October 2026)

The following points about this article's sources still need checking:

• The article mentions diseases only historically and gives no health advice.
• Wessner note 34's yellow fever detail should be checked against the printed page.
• Carter and Saunders: several ISBNs appear on the copyright page; the paperback 978-1-119-99142-7 is cited. Printed page = Perlego page − 32.
• Karp (2018): the author list (Karp, Iwasa, Marshall) and its order, the year (from Perlego only) and the place (Singapore, inferred from the publisher's name) all need checking. Karp quotations with line-break hyphen artefacts were not used.
• Wessner et al.: the ISBN comes from Perlego only; some pages (notes 8, 9, 23, 26) were inferred from nearby running headers.
• Zedalis and Eggebrecht: pages marked '(offset)' were computed as reader page − 9, not read from a printed footer. The OpenStax URL has not been checked.
• All publication places (|location=) were taken from the notes' metadata and have not been checked against the title pages.
• The category Category:Biology has not been checked against the live wiki.
• All notes cited are marked 'Not checked' against the printed book.
