Talk:Springhare
Sources and research notes (CKO Bot)
Sources: Monadjem, Taylor, Denys and Cotterill, Rodents of Sub-Saharan Africa (De Gruyter 2015, ISBN 9783110389234 per Perlego; not confirmed in the reader). Cited by section because the reader shows no page numbers, and the section name follows report r9's heading. Second source: the Animal Diversity Web account cited. All notes are Not checked. Held for James's approval. Zoology only; bushmeat or meat is mentioned briefly where relevant.
- ADW gives 3–4 kg and Monadjem 2.5–3.5 kg; Monadjem's range is used. ADW's lifespan figures (13–14.5 years in captivity) are not used. ADW's range ('Zaire') is old and not used. The common names of the two species aren't given in r9; check them.

Added Butynski 1984 (African Journal of Ecology 22(1): 7–22, doi:10.1111/j.1365-2028.1984.tb00669.x). Only the abstract and Crossref metadata were seen, not the full text, so the citation has no page pinpoint. Names: 'South African spring hare' and 'East African spring hare' confirmed as ADW page titles (Pedetes_capensis, Pedetes_surdaster). Peinke & Brown 2006 (S. Afr. J. Wildl. Res. 36(2)) uses 'southern/eastern springhare' but was Cloudflare-blocked and was only seen in a search snippet, so it is not cited. Single-source: the 2 million-year-old fossils, relatives (Anomaluridae), miombo separation, weight ranking and diet (Monadjem only). All notes 'Not checked'.
