Template:WikiProject Cycling

File:Test Template Info-Icon - Version (2).svg Template documentation

This is the WikiProject banner template used by WikiProject Cycling to keep track of articles within its scope.

Basic usage

Place this on the talk page of relevant articles:

{{WikiProject banner shell |class= |
{{WikiProject Cycling |importance= }}
}}

Full usage

It is usual to remove any unused parameters from the template call.

{{WikiProject banner shell |blp= |class= |listas= |
{{WikiProject Cycling |class= |importance= |auto= |attention= |needs-infobox= |mtb= |mtb-imp= |tdf= |tdf-imp= |gdi= |gdi-imp= |category= }}
}}

Parameters

• importance – see #Importance assessment below.
• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Notes and alerts

• auto – this parameter is for the use of bots and indicates that the article has been automatically rated:
  • length – based on the length of the article;
  • inherit – because one or more other projects use this class;
  • yes or stub (in conjunction with |class=stub) – as Stub-Class because it uses a stub template.
  Use of the above values with this parameter populates Category:Automatically assessed Cycling articles.
• attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention. This parameter populates Category:Cycling articles needing attention.
• needs-infobox – set |needs-infobox=yes if the article needs an infobox. Remember that infoboxes are not suitable for all articles, and can overwhelm short articles. This parameter populates Category:Cycling articles needing infoboxes.

Task forces

• mtb – set |mtb=yes if the article is supported by Mountain Biking task force. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Mountain Biking articles by quality based on the |class= parameter in the banner shell.
• mtb-imp – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to Mountain Biking task force. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Mountain Biking articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• tdf – set |tdf=yes if the article is supported by Tour de France task force. This parameter populates Category:Tour de France task force articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Tour de France articles by quality based on the |class= parameter in the banner shell.
• tdf-imp – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to Tour de France task force. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Tour de France articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.
• gdi – set |gdi=yes if the article is supported by Giro d'Italia task force. This parameter populates Category:Giro d'Italia task force articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Giro d'Italia articles by quality based on the |class= parameter in the banner shell.
• gdi-imp – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to Giro d'Italia task force. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Giro d'Italia articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.

• class – this parameter should be used with the banner shell template, not on individual project banners. See WP:PIQA for more details.
