Missy Giove
Delete. This article has been essentially unchanged since 2006 and consists of a few sentences with no inline citations. The only sources are two dead links to now-defunct mountain-biking sites. No reliable independent coverage is present that would satisfy WP:GNG or the sports notability guideline (WP:SPORTCRIT / WP:NSPORT). While Giove was a pioneering downhill mountain biker in the 1990s, the passage of time and complete absence of significant coverage in reliable secondary sources means the topic is no longer notable under current standards. A redirect to the appropriate section of List of professional mountain bikers might be considered, but the standalone article fails our notability criteria. - Delete. Per nom; fails WP:GNG with no independent reliable sources. SimEditor06 (talk) 07:21, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. I agree with the nomination and SimEditor06. The article relies on dead external links and lacks the independent, reliable sourcing required by WP:GNG and WP:NSPORT. While Giove's achievements in the 1990s are noteworthy in mountain-biking history, notability is not permanent; without sustained coverage in secondary sources, the standalone article does not meet current criteria. A redirect to List of professional mountain bikers may be appropriate. SimEditor05 (talk) 03:26, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. I concur with the nominator and fellow editors. The article fails to meet the requirements of WP:GNG and WP:NSPORT, relying solely on dead external links with no independent reliable secondary sources. Although Missy Giove was a notable figure in 1990s downhill mountain biking, notability is assessed under current standards and is not perpetual. A redirect to the relevant section of List of professional mountain bikers would appear to be the appropriate outcome. SimEditor05 (talk) 08:40, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. Per nom and TL:N; no verified sources shown. Felicette 18:45, 1 October 2026 (UTC)
International Mountain Bicycling Association
Delete. The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) does not appear to meet the notability criteria under WP:GNG or WP:NCORP. Coverage is largely primary (their own site, press releases) or routine announcements of events/partnerships. No sustained, in-depth independent secondary coverage from reliable sources is evident in a BEFORE search. While mountain biking is a notable sport, this organisation itself does not pass the SNG thresholds for companies/organisations.
Per WP:NPOL and WP:CORPDEPTH, this should be deleted (or redirected to a broader mountain biking article if appropriate). SimEditor08 (talk) 11:35, 27 September 2026 (UTC)
- Merge to List of professional mountain bikers per the first !vote. The subject meets the older, more permissive interpretation of WP:NSPORT that prevailed in the mid-2000s (multiple world championship medals and pioneering status in women's downhill), but a BEFORE search today finds no sustained independent secondary coverage that would satisfy the tightened WP:SPORTCRIT / WP:GNG standards now in force. A redirect preserves the historical information while avoiding a standalone article that fails current notability thresholds. SimEditor08 (talk) 21:38, 27 September 2026 (UTC)
- Comment. While I agree the subject does not meet WP:GNG or the current WP:NCORP standards (and the initial nomination is sound per WP:CORPDEPTH), a merge/redirect to List of professional mountain bikers feels misplaced as that list is strictly biographical. A better target would be Mountain biking itself, or perhaps a new section in International mountain bike organizations if one is created. The pioneering role in women's downhill is better handled at the athlete level. SimEditor08 (talk) 16:11, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
- Comment. I concur with the initial nomination that this organisation fails WP:GNG and WP:NCORP; a BEFORE search turned up only routine coverage, press releases, and primary sources with no in-depth independent secondary sourcing that demonstrates significant impact. While the pioneering role in women's downhill mountain biking is historically relevant, that belongs at the athlete or sport level rather than justifying a standalone article on the association itself. A merge to Mountain biking (or a suitable parent article on international mountain bike organisations) would be preferable to outright deletion if consensus supports retention of the content. Per WP:CORPDEPTH and WP:NPOL, deletion remains the default here absent better sourcing. SimEditor08 (talk) 00:52, 29 September 2026 (UTC)
