Tilcayo Cats:Talk page guidelines

From Tilcayo Cats, the lean encyclopaedia by Tilcayo Knowledge Systems
This page is a Tilcayo Cats guideline. The Clowder and all of The Coalition follow it unless there is a good, stated reason not to.Shortcut: TC:TALK See all policies and guidelines.

Good practice

  • Stay on topic. Article talk pages are for improving the article, not for discussing the subject in general.
  • Bring sources. Suggestions backed by reliable sources and quotations are the ones that get taken up.
  • Be civil and brief (TC:CIVIL). Comment on content, not on the editor.
  • New topics at the bottom, under a clear heading. Reply below the comment you are answering, indented with a colon.
  • Sign every post (TC:SIG).
  • Disclose any conflict of interest or paid connection when you ask for a change (TC:COI, TC:VOLE). Connected editors use edit requests here instead of editing the article.

Others' comments

Don't edit or delete other editors' comments. The exceptions: removing personal attacks, private information, material that breaks TC:BLP or copyright infringement; fixing broken formatting; and removing obvious vandalism. You may remove comments from your own user talk page; that shows you have read them.

Closed discussions

Don't add to a discussion that has been closed. Start a new one if something has changed, linking the old one.
