Bledry Morgan
Appearance
Bledry Morgan, also recorded as Blodre Morgan, was a colonel associated with the buccaneers of Jamaica. He commanded the rearguard during Henry Morgan's expedition against Panama in 1671. Historian C. H. Haring reproduces Henry Morgan's report, which places 300 men under Bledry's command.[1]
In May 1671 Sir James Modyford appointed him to take possession of Providence Island as deputy governor. Haring describes this as part of an attempted English settlement, but notes that the undertaking appears to have failed.[1]
