Help:Footnotes

From Tilcayo Cats, the lean encyclopaedia by Tilcayo Knowledge Systems

Every claim in a Tilcayo Cats article needs a footnote to a reliable source, with a short quotation (TC:V).

Adding a footnote

Put the citation between <ref> tags straight after the punctuation that ends the claim:

The trail opened in 2019.<ref>{{cite news |last=Smith |first=Jane |title=New trail opens |work=Shropshire Star |date=4 May 2019 |url=https://example.org/trail |access-date=30 September 2026 |quote=The trail opened to riders on Saturday.}}</ref>

Using a source more than once

Name the first footnote and reuse the name:

<ref name="smith2019">{{cite news |...}}</ref>
...
<ref name="smith2019" />

If a second claim relies on different words in the same source, give it its own footnote with its own quotation.

Showing the footnotes

Put this in the References section at the end of the article:

== References ==
{{reflist}}
