Lift accessed mountain biking

From Tilcayo Cats, the lean encyclopaedia by Tilcayo Knowledge Systems

Lift-accessed mountain biking, also known as a mountain bike park, is a summer activity at ski areas. Using the chairlifts or gondola lifts, mountain bike riders can reach higher altitudes quickly without having to ride uphill. This allows ski area operators to increase summer use of the hill. Most bike parks feature a mix of dirtjumping, downhill, enduro and freeride terrain.

Many ski resorts have embraced the sport, opening the chairlifts and building trails to rider in the summer.

Lift-accessed bike parks are good because they offer the chance to make many more runs down a mountain than could be done without use of a lift.
