Mixopterygidae
Appearance
Mixopterygidae is an extinct bat family established in 2008 to include Mixopteryx and Carcinipteryx. The describing study examined more than 600 fossil remains from Eocene and Oligocene sites in southern France. The family's recognition rested on a combination of dental features that did not fit the existing family assignments.[1]
