Acacia dolichocephala
Appearance
Acacia dolichocephala is a botanical name used for two different plants:
- Vachellia dolichocephala: the African tree named Acacia dolichocephala by Harms.[1]
- Vachellia sphaerocephala: the American plant to which Safford applied Acacia dolichocephala in 1915. Kew treats Safford's name as an illegitimate later homonym and a synonym of this species.[2]
The author following the name identifies which usage is intended. This page distinguishes the names; it does not represent a third species. See the plant collection's name decisions.
