Only a fraction of talk page consensuses are listed here, but a list item does not increase the force of a consensus. Consensuses do not have expiration dates or half-lives; until modified or canceled, a ten-year-old consensus remains in force as much as one established last week.
This article adheres to WP:CCC (consensus can change). Many of the items in this list have been superseded, amended, or canceled. Before you propose a change to a consensus, read the discussion(s) linked in the list item. Try to understand the arguments.
Do you have new and significant arguments? Merely changing the words, to something with the same meaning as an old argument, is not a new argument.
Has the external (to Wikipedia) situation changed sufficiently to warrant a revisitation of the consensus?
If you can answer "yes" to either of the above questions, your proposal should be well-received. Otherwise, your proposal will likely be resisted as time better spent on other issues. You might see the words "settled issue", and the discussion might be closed early.
If you propose to alter a consensus, clearly explain why a revisitation of the consensus is justified. "I disagree with it", alone, is not a good reason.
Be prepared to produce reliable sources to support your proposal for article change, where appropriate. Better yet, include them in your opening comment.
Per WP:EDITREQ and consensus 74, do not use the edit request facility to seek a change to a consensus. Instead, use a normal discussion thread.
