Template:Db-g11
| This template may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion because it serves only to promote or publicise an entity, person, product, or idea, and would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic. However, the mere fact that a company, organization, or product is a page's subject does not, on its own, qualify that page for deletion under this criterion. This criterion also does not apply where substantial encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material as deletion is not cleanup; in this case please remove the promotional material yourself, or add the {{advert}} tag to alert others to do so. See CSD G11.
If this template does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, or you intend to fix it, please remove this notice, but do not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself. If you created this page and you disagree with the given reason for deletion, you can click the button below and leave a message explaining why you believe it should not be deleted. You can also visit the talk page to check if you have received a response to your message. This template may be deleted at any time if it unquestionably meets the speedy deletion criteria, or if an explanation posted to the talk page is found to be insufficient.
Note to page author: you have not edited the talk page yet. If you wish to contest this speedy deletion, clicking the button above will allow you to leave a talk page message explaining why you think this template should not be deleted. If you have already posted to the talk page but this message is still showing up, try purging the page cache. This template is used to tag pages for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria, specifically CSD G11. There is a separate template for each criterion – see the table to the right.
This template places the page into the categories: Candidates for speedy deletion, and Candidates for speedy deletion as spam.
Usage
The template should be placed at the top of the page to be deleted.
Parameters
{{db-g11}}
- This is the most basic form of the template.
{{db-g11|bot=ExampleBot}}
- Bot accounts will specify the
|bot=parameter to notify the reviewing admin that the page was tagged by an automated process.
{{db-g11|reason=Additional note by the reporter/nominator. ~~~~}}
- Free-form notes. Keep it short. Signature is optional.
{{db-g11|Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Page title here}}
- Link to previous AfD or other relevant discussion (parameter can also be given as
|1=or|xfd=or|page=). This can be used for whatever is the pagename of the most recent XfD or similar discussion (including if the page was then under a different name, or in a non-obvious location, such as a 2nd nomination, a merge discussion at some other article's talk page, etc.). This parameter has no default value and does nothing clever. (For speedy deletion on the grounds of recreation of previously deleted material, see Template:Db-g4 which has more features for detecting previous XfDs.)
Author notification
If you nominate a page for deletion under this criterion, please consider placing the following code:
{{subst:Db-spam-notice|PageName}}
...on the User talk page of the main contributor(s) to the page, replacing PageName with the name of the page being marked for deletion. This will display the following user warning template:
==Speedy deletion nomination of PageName==
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on PageName, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
