Template:Uw-articletodraft
Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to somewhere you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you.
| File:Information icon4.svg | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-articletodraft}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
{{subst:Uw-articletodraft|old article location|New draft location}}references a specific new draft location{{subst:Uw-articletodraft|old article location|New draft location|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-articletodraft|old article location||Additional text}}or{{subst:Uw-articletodraft|old article location|2=Additional text}}also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the new draft location.- Please note that
|2=refers to the new page location, not the additional text at the end of the template. Due to template limitations, the documentation does not say this. - This template should only be used when moving a page from mainspace to draftspace.
- If you are leaving this template for an editor that was a contributor to but not the original creator of the draft, add
|contributor=yes.
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-articletodraft}} rather than {{Uw-articletodraft}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
