Template:Uw-socksuspect

icon You are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then, if you wish to do so, respond to the evidence at [[Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/{{{1}}}]]. Thank you.

It is usually better to NOT notify suspected sockpuppets that they are under investigation. Usually the accused editor's presence on SPI pages is unhelpful. If an SPI clerk or checkuser has a question for accused editors, they will be pinged or contacted at that time.

Usage

• {{subst:Uw-socksuspect|SPI subpage}} references a specific SPI subpage
• {{subst:Uw-socksuspect|SPI subpage|Additional text}} adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"
• {{subst:Uw-socksuspect||Additional text}} or {{subst:Uw-socksuspect|2=Additional text}} also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the SPI subpage.
• :{{subst:Uw-socksuspect|SPI subpage|header=1}} includes a header; this is for compatibility with {{Socksuspectnotice}}.

Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-socksuspect}} rather than {{Uw-socksuspect}}.

To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
