Template:Uw-nonfree
icon Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
| File:Information icon4.svg | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-nonfree}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
{{subst:Uw-nonfree}}{{subst:Uw-nonfree|Article}}references a specific article{{subst:Uw-nonfree|Article|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-nonfree}} rather than {{Uw-nonfree}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
