Template:Uw-redund
icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your recent edit added information that already existed in the article and was reverted or removed because your contribution was considered redundant. When editing, please read through the article to make sure the content you wish to add is not already present. If you wish to provide additional information for an article, please remember that all content on Wikipedia must be based on reliable sources which are to be identified within the article. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you.
| File:Information icon4.svg | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-redund}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
{{subst:Uw-redund}}{{subst:Uw-redund|Article}}references a specific article{{subst:Uw-redund|Article|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-redund||Additional text}}or{{subst:Uw-redund|2=Additional text}}also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-redund}} rather than {{Uw-redund}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
