Template:Uw-uploadfirst
Information icon Hello, Uw-uploadfirst. I noticed that one of your recent edits added a link to an image that does not exist on Wikipedia's servers. Files from other websites or from your computer must be uploaded first before adding them to the article. Most images you find on the Internet are copyrighted, and have their use subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you.
| File:Information icon4.svg | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-uploadfirst}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
{{subst:Uw-uploadfirst}}{{subst:Uw-uploadfirst|Article}}references a specific article{{subst:Uw-uploadfirst|Article|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-uploadfirst||Additional text}}or{{subst:Uw-uploadfirst|2=Additional text}}also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-uploadfirst}} rather than {{Uw-uploadfirst}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
