Template:Uw-filename
Information icon Please do not change the names of files in articles. It breaks the link to the file. I have corrected the mistake. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.
It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask on [[User_talk:en>Wikipedia contributorsExample|my talk page]], or to post at the help desk for assistance. Thank you.
| File:Information icon4.svg | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-filename}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
{{subst:Uw-filename}}{{subst:Uw-filename|Article}}references a specific article{{subst:Uw-filename|Article|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-filename||Additional text}}or{{subst:Uw-filename|2=Additional text}}also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-filename}} rather than {{Uw-filename}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
