Template:Uw-removevandalism
Information icon Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Wikipedia. We appreciate this, but unfortunately your edit was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you.
| File:Information icon4.svg | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-removevandalism}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
{{subst:Uw-removevandalism}}{{subst:Uw-removevandalism|Article}}references a specific article{{subst:Uw-removevandalism|Article|Additional text}}adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-removevandalism||Additional text}}or{{subst:Uw-removevandalism|2=Additional text}}also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-removevandalism}} rather than {{Uw-removevandalism}}.
To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
